Specialized Care for You
Steps To Success
Hello, my name is Keenya Staten. I am the founder of Anew Weight Loss Center. I have been a registered nurse since 2004, with a background in critical and emergency Care. In 2013, I graduated, with honors, from Duke University in Durham, NC, as a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Since this time, I have been managing clients with obesity and helping them improve their overall health. I am a member of the Obesity Medicine Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
I have been overweight or obese for most of my life. I have tried many diet plans and weight loss fads. In 2008, my weight topped the scales at 247 lbs, at 5 ft 6 in. Frustrated and looking for a quick fix, I decided to undergo weight loss surgery (Lap Band). I lost 20 lbs over the course of 2 years and gave up on trying. During this time, I juggled college, work, and family. I was constantly busy and struggling with my weight. In 2013, with the use of weight loss medication and lifestyle changes, I lost 70 lbs. I was previously wearing a size 22-24 and now I am wearing a size 10.
Anew was founded on 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Anew embodies the essence of my weight loss journey. Anew means to do in a different way; afresh; or in a new form. I now have a new way of thinking, a new way of eating, a new lifestyle, and so much more.
I enjoy running and have completed several races. I enjoy being active and motivating others to achieve their weight loss goals. I am Anew because my diet, exercise, and mentality has changed. Anew encompasses my patients', passion, profession, and personal journey. I would love to assist you in achieving your transformation today.
May God bless you and keep you in good health.
